BAMBI

BAMBI is a non-profit organization. Surplus funds raised through membership, donations and activities are donated to local charities which reflect BAMBI's concerns and priorities. Our charities team is committed to helping a number of local charities that are focused on children and/or mothers. We make regular visits and ensure that the funds and items that BAMBI members have donated are being used appropriately. In any given year, the committee may choose to focus on one or two charities as principal benefactors. Since the early 80`s BAMBI has always supported underprivileged mothers and children in Thailand. BAMBI charities team collects necessary items to donate, distributes (or facilitates) donations of items, motivates/facilitates volunteers, organizes fundraising events, raises awareness of BAMBI members of organizations to support.

Cuddles 4Kids – A Blanket & Pillow Drive

When BAMBI heard from Eckie the Clown that many of the refugee children he visited were sleeping on hard floors without a mattress, pillow or even a blanket we decided to put together a charity drive. In between March and April 2010 the Cuddles4 Kids – Blanket and Pillow drive was launched. With donations from sympathetic BAMBI members, parents from international schools and others we managed to get a truckload of pillows and blankets to the Gift of Happinesss.

The Gift of Happiness was founded by Clown Eckie who is also Eddie Haworth. Please scroll below to learn more about this foundation or click here to be taken to their official site http://www.gohappiness.org/.

On 24th August 2010, the Charities team paid the Camillian Home a visit. We interviewed Mr. Faisal Malik, their communications director. He took time out of his busy schedule and gave us a grand tour of this lovely home. We met some of the children together with their caregivers. A multitude of emotions filtered through us as we made our way around. They ranged from a feeling of sadness, tenderness, gratitude, joy, and most of all awe. Do read more about this home with an article written and published in the BAMBI magazine's October edition (click here for the full story).
