BAMBI Charities continues its support for Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, providing resources for its after-school Coconut Club for vulnerable children. By Yoshiko Swinney   Continuing our support from last year, this summer, BAMBI donated ฿30,000 to Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation. The donation will help their program, Coconut Club Following the Asian Tsunami in 2004, the foundation was formed as a charity organization to improve the economic opportunities and life chances of young people by funding and implementing English-language education. Their teachers provide instruction in English for free to over 700 underprivileged Thai children in two government schools in Phuket. Aged between 4 – 18 years old, the children are learning English as well as maths and science in English. Over 200 students are currently living at school dormitories due to their family circumstances. Some are orphans, and others are unable to live at home or do not have a place to call home as their families are unable to look after them. The Coconut Club provides these students with after-school activities. Teachers and volunteers organize a variety of programs such as arts & crafts, playing games, cooking, and practicing English.  Our donation will be used to fund school supplies for the classes.  To learn more about the foundation, please visit   BAMBI Charities works to support organizations that are making a difference to better the lives of underprivileged mothers and children in Thailand.
